i'll cookie you
Parents sometimes use the silliest of phrases. When they get mad or frustrated with their kids, they tend to turn everything into a statement against the kids. Let me give an example to illustrate my point:
Kid: "Can I have a cookie?"
Frustrated Parent: "I'll cookie you!"
What does that even mean anyway? What does cookie-ing someone consist of exactly? I mean, it's not only cookies that this works with. You can insert any word into this phrase or concept. There's also another way parents can tend to phrase this. Here's another example:
Kid: "Can I have a cookie?"
Frustrated Parent: "Oh, I'll give you a cookie, alright!"
Again, what does this mean? Are you really offering to give me the cookie? Because that's what I want. Of course they're not actually offering the cookie. It's just their crazy way of letting us know they're mad at us or something. I wish they were really just offering the cookie.

I wish I got a cookie too.
Ya, my mother had some of the weirdest remarks when we were kids. However, hers kinda consisted of more swearing. For example:
My mother would come back from the store.
Me: What did you get me?
Mom: Poop on a shingle.
Of course I cleaned up her response a bit but I'm sure you get the point.
I used to work at a nursing home where one of the residents always used the uncleaned version of that phrase.
In other news, welcome back to the blog. You were missed.
listen man.. when you have kids, you will understand.. your mind will be all mixed up and your responses will never make sense again.. trust me..you will find out all about the parents vocabulary and phrasology when that first kid comes.
Tony took the words right out of my mouth. You'll understand.
Every time I read the title to this post I start laughing, which proves just how ridiculous it sounds. However, I stick to my original comment.
