bumper sticker ramblings
I don't have one specific thing to say about bumper stickers, but just a few non-related ramblings.
I generally think bumper stickers are really stupid. Like anyone really cares who you're voting for, what causes you care about, and how well your kid does in school. The only bumper stickers I usually do like are the ones which mock already existing bumper stickers.
For example, I hate the bumper sticker that reads "My child is an honors student" but love the one that reads "My child beat up your honor student." I don't think it's cool that honor students are being beat up, but I like that the bumper sticker makes fun of the ones which are braggadocio in nature.
Also, I've noticed that most bumper stickers belong to people of the extreme right and left respectively. Just an observation.
I used to have bumper stickers all over my clunker in college but realized the stupidity of it and opted not to put them on my newer clunker.
Also, notice they are called "bumper" stickers, not "back window" stickers, not "trunk" stickers, or any other kind of stickers. If you're going to put these dumb things on your car, the least you can do is put them where they belong.
The point of this post is this: If you're bumper sticker's not funny, don't put it on your car and waste my time reading it! I'm not going to save the whales just because you do. However, I might just chuckle with you if your sticker's funny!

I don't think that there is a bumper sticker in the world that is worth messing up the paint job on my car. I have never been a fan of bumper stickers but I do enjoy the funny ones when sitting in traffic. Actually, I know how dangerous this sounds, but I will sometimes get real close to someone on the highway to read a bumper sticker that appears to be funny. I know, I am a hazard on the road, but that is another blog in itself, right?
I would bet my last dollar that in 20 years, SOMEONE, not mentioning any names, Mike, will have his car rear window plastered with college stickers of where his kids go...or do community colleges not have stickers?
Wow...I can't believe you think my kids actually have a shot at community college. I thought they'd be stuck in trade school or job corps. I'm excited now. Thanks for the encouragement.
It could be worse, they could end up being security guards ; )
and I thought you were going to remove that other entry!!
LOL! That is too funny!
I don't think there is a reason for older people to have them on their cars anyway. On some of the nicer brands of cars I don't think a bumper sticker belongs. I would think that is something you would kind of grow out of. But I know all of the stickers on cars I see are not only driven by teenagers and college kids.
My dad has like, one thousand bumper stickers. But the one I like is the Ben and Jerry's ice cream bumper sticker. It's always been my favorite.
My favorite bumper sticker I ever had on my car said "As long as there are tests, there will always be prayer in public schools" and the one that I had that was most beneficial to me was "TROPPERS ARE YOUR BEST PROTECTION" no lie that one helped me get out of dozens of tickets!!!!
